Cadiz strives to be recognised as an employer of choice in the financial services sector. The human resources policies and procedures are designed not only to comply with legislation, but also to create a working environment that embraces diversity and stimulates individual growth and entrepreneurial thinking. All policies have been audited and found to be completely non-discriminatory. The group has documented policies on both HIV/AIDS and sexual harassment.
Cadiz provides a range of services aimed at addressing the health and well-being of its staff. These include contracting an occupational health sister to provide primary healthcare, including confidential HIV counselling; retaining a corporate psychologist to address the emotional needs of staff and ensuring senior executives undergo bi-annual medical examinations at the company’s expense.
Numerous forums and social and sporting events are co-ordinated and funded by the company to encourage integration and team building. These include a family day, adventure weekends, a ladies spa day, a women's empowerment group, touch rugby and inter-office golf.
The Cadiz Foundation manages the group’s corporate social investment programme. A minimum of 1% of annual after tax profit is committed to projects focusing on education, skills development and social upliftment of children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
